I can't help but be fearful of the nasty and malicious acts of violence taking place in light of the passage of the health care reform bill. Some members of Congress have had bricks thrown through the windows of their offices, and one congressman had the gas line to his barbecue disconnected. Don't expect Republican leaders to condemn the violent protests, because cretins like Sarah Palin are joining in the protests and egging them on. Palin's Facebook page shows House of Representatives members who represent districts carried by John McCain in the 2008 presidential election and suggests that they be "targeted" in the midterm elections this November as if they were the wolves she might shoot at from a helicopter.
If this were some other country, these right-wing protests mean a military coup in a week.
Most of the Republicans' energy has been spent in the Senate trying to add enough amendments to the health care reconciliation bill to neuter it. Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid thinks he can get the bill through without their obstructionist tactics. Arizona senator John McCain has complained that trying to fix it is like putting lipstick on a pig.
Hey, Senator McCain - stop talking about your former running mate like that! :-D
This is not healthy, but as long as the Republicans look even more unreasonable, let them go ahead and make themselves look like bigger fools than they already are.
