Self-Congratulations

George Walker Bush's verbal slights of hand and intellectually sloppy account of his Presidency - preventing a terrorist attack after 9/11, taking credit for a Louisiana state militia rescue of Katrina victims, boasting about the number of jobs created despite the narrow job gain in net numbers - paled in comparison to Dick Cheney's self-serving interview with Jim Lehrer tonight. The outgoing Vice President expressed enthusiasm for a tax policy that led to economic ruin, defended the decision to go after Saddam Hussein on domestic security grounds, and hinted that we'd get in really big trouble if Barack Obama changes course in fighting al-Qaeda.
So, the new President had better do what the outgoing administration says, and nobody gets hurt . . .
