In a Corner

A funny thing happened to my mother and me when we went into New York City this past weekend for the holidays. We were walking up Fifth Avenue next to Rockefeller Center and ran into a demonstration against the Israeli attacks on Gaza that took up the whole sidewalk. We tried to get around it by going into a store and getting out of a side door, which was closed. And - I swear to God - when we were in the store, with the only way out that was virtually blocked by demonstrators, we heard on the store's stereo . . . "Nowhere To Run" by Martha and the Vandellas! :-O
We were able to get around the demonstrators by going out, turning around and talking a route behind the stores and along a corner of the center's skating rink.
