I was saddened to hear of the death of Studs Terkel this past Friday at the age of 96. Terkel was a true American original; he compiled several fascinating oral histories of ordinary people and hosted one of the nation's best and most thoughtful radio shows from Chicago's WFMT-FM. He was a true voice for the common American and a powerful spokesman for progressive causes and social change. R.I.P.
