No More Experience

I was saddened to hear of the recent death of Mitch Mitchell, drummer for the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Mitchell, a small musician with a great deal of spirit and talent, helped revolutionize drumming in the late sixties; his style borrowed a bit of swing from jazz, but it was still a straight rock and roll style. His influence was tremendous, and he along with Hendrix and bassist Noel Redding set a standard for heavy rock in the years to come.

Mitch Mitchell, the last surviving member of the Hendrix trio, was 61. RIP.
