I was saddened to hear of the death of Paul Newman of cancer at 83. He was indeed a giant in motion pictures, appearing in such groundbreaking moves as Sweet Bird of Youth and Cool Hand Luke, as well as crowd pleasers such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid and The Sting, both with Robert Redford. The Verdict was probably my favorite Newman movie, and the role he should have won an Oscar for. An automotive hobbyist, he raced cars and owned several Volkswagens. :-) I'll think of him every time I eat his popcorn. R.I.P. :-(
