What's Going On Here?

A recent report on the state of the Iraqi army and national police suggests - no, pretty much spells out - that the forces that are supposed to protect and to serve the Iraqi people once we leave (whenever that is) are far from ready for the job. The U.S. military might have to stay longer than expected, forcing us to spend more money to prop up the country.
Meanwhile, the war is beginning to take a toll on the homefront. There was a net loss of jobs last month for the first time in four years, and the already wobbly stock market has been shaken further.
And to think the Founders didn't anticipate regret on the part of the voters and allow removal of the president through a "no confidence" congressional vote.
I just learned what "bruxing" is. It's something I've been doing ever since Bush took office. It's also known as "teeth-gnashing." :-O
