As you know by now, the 2006 Winter Olympics have gotten underway in Torino, Italy. Although I hope to comment on the Winter Games on this blog, expect fewer entries here than there were during the 2004 Athens Games. I almost killed myself commenting on that Olympiad.
The opening ceremony included an impressive formation of a giant ski jumper by perfomers in colored jumpsuits. I lost interest, though, with the procession of the athletes; for some reason, the ceremony producers have chosen to blare seventies disco as the athletes enter the stadium! :-O
