Skiing Questions

Before I slam the door on the Torino Winter Olympics for good, I'd like to ask some rhetorical questions about the freestyle skiing events:
First, how did skiing produce subjective events based on judging?
What's up with mogul skiing? I mean, you're actually scored on how well you do going down a slope full of molehills?!?
What is it about aerials that make it look more dangerous and, amazingly, dumber than stock car racing?
If the long jump in track and field is based strictly on how far you jump, why is ski jumping based on both how far you jump and how gracefully you jump? Hello? It's ski jumping! Grace shouldn't have anything to do with gliding eighty miles an hour into the sky!
Just wondering . . . ;-)
