George W. Bush undistinguished himself in a speech in Pennsylvania this Veteran's Day by attacking Democrats and antiwar activists for accusing him of cherry-picking intelligence on Iraq to get the Senate to give him the authority to go to war as a last resort - never mind that he went to war as a first choice. While he acknowledged the right of others to disagree with the Administration's foreign policy, he declared that charges against the Administration's credibility and the prosecution of the conflict in Iraq was demoralizing to the troops. In other words, we have the right to call Bush a liar and/or oppose the war as long as we don't come right out and say it! Only an idiot would fail to recognize the internal contradiction.
So, this speech should help Bush in the polls, as failing to notice the internal contradiction is a great likelihood. >:-(
