Congress has passed - and George W. Bush is eager to sign - a bill that bans lawsuits against gun manufacturers from victims of a firearm-related crime. Although these manufacturers are extremely negligent and lazy in keeping their guns from ending up being sold illegally or to people who shouldn't own a gun, they'll now get away with it if one of their .44's gets sold to a fly-by-night dealer in Virginia and ends up being used in a South Bronx drive-by. Does Bush plan to support every bill this Supreme Soviet of a Congress sends him? No - a defense bill including a ban on torture is facing a veto for that very provision. >:-O
