Three American soldiers who fired at a hotel in Kabul, Afghanistan, and killed a Spanish cameraman have been indicted in abstentia by a judge in Spain. The judge refuses to accept the excuse that the soldiers in question thought they were being attacked from inside the hotel. Geez, how's this going to play when the case gets to the International Criminal Court and. . . oh, that's right, we're not a part of the International Criminal Court! We, the United States of America, after all, live by the rule of law. Our law! :-O
But surely this will be a lesson to our GI's in the future, right? Judge for yourself; another group of American soldiers is under investigation by the Afghan government for burning dead Taliban soldiers in violation of the Geneva Convention.
I just live in America, dude. . . . >:-(
