Germany is at a political stalemate. The Christian Democrats, the party led by Angela Merkel (who is vying to become Germany's first female chancellor), won the most votes in parliamentary elections. However, incumbent Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder may still have enough votes in the Bundestag to form another center-left coalition. The Germans are apparently having the same disputes over election results this country had five years ago - not a good sign considering Germany's precarious economic situation.
Fortunately for the Fatherland, Germany's federal system isn't fashioned after ours, so no one German state will decide the chancellorship one way or the other.
