Not Enough?

Although President Biden issued an executive order to ensure the safeguarding access to federally approved abortion medication and emergency contraception, providing legal help for patients seeking abortion services and those who offer them, and protecting patient privacy, abortion-rights activists aren't satisfied.

That's not enough?

The President plans to take more steps in the near future . . . and he's already being told he's not doing enough?

Abortion-rights activists are urging Biden to declare a public health emergency, but Jennifer Klein, co-chair and executive director of the White House Gender Policy Council, said that was a non-starter. "When we looked at the public health emergency, we learned a couple things," Klein said. "One is that it doesn't free very many resources. it's what's in the public health emergency fund, and there's very little money, tens of thousands of dollars in it. So that didn't seem like a great option. And it also doesn't release a significant amount of legal authority. And so that's why we haven't taken that action yet."

And besides, declaring COVID a public health emergency did a whale of good, didn't it?

President Biden wants abortion-rights activists to go out and vote for more Democratic congressional and gubernatorial candidates in November, but they think that's . . . not enough.  Well, folks, if you have any better ideas, maybe the rest of us will consider them.  But until then, make it a point to vote in November, because if you don't, you will deserve every blow you get.

Aren't you still reeling from picking Hillary Clinton instead of Martin O'Malley (I told you what to do, but you said no!) to oppose Trump in 2016? 

Codify THIS!

Let me get this straight, Senator Schumer . . .

You say you're going to hold a Senate vote today on codifying Roe v. Wade that you know won't pass for the sole purpose of getting Republicans on record as opposing such an action to motivate pro-choice voters to go to the polls in November.  That's your strategy.

But what happens when someone like, say, Republican Senator Ron Johnson, up for re-election in Wisconsin this year and unlucky not to have an opponent named Russell by his mother and Feingold by his father this time, inevitably votes against the codification of Roe?  Oh, sure, it may motivate Wisconsin Democrats, but in a likely tight election in Wisconsin, won't it motivate pro-life voters to come out in full force to Johnson - and possibly tip the election in his favor?
