The January 6 Hearings - Part Six

And what did we learn at yesterday's hearing? Donald Trump not only loves violence done in his name, he does it in his own name.  He even likes to throw his lunch against the wall when he gets news he doesn't like.

I've heard of average men (Leon Czolgosz, Lee Harvey Oswald) who murdered Presidents, but I'd never heard of a President who attempted to murder an average man. And while Indian leader Indira Gandhi may have been killed by her own bodyguards, I could not, until now, imagine a bodyguard being killed by his own leader.

Or a leader accused of an attempted carjacking.

But we all know now that Donald J. Trump encouraged violence by allowing the crowd that assembled for his fight speech on the morning of January 6, 2021 to attend his rally without surrendering their weapons so they could use them when they approached the Capitol.  We know that his promise to go down to the Capitol with his supporters was not an empty promise.  He wanted to go and ordered his Secret Service man to take him there in the presidential monster wagon.  When the agent refused, Trump reiterated his order, yelling, "I'm the f**kin' President!"  When the agent refused again, Trump tried to hijack the vehicle and grab the agent by the collarbone . . . and could have possibly choked him.

And then White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows just sat back and took it all in stride.  And White House Counsel Pat Cippolone had to bend over backwards to keep Trump from going down to the Capitol and open up himself and the administration to a whole slew of crimes.

And we all know this thanks to Mark Meadows' deputy, Cassidy Hutchinson.

My heroine!

It should be only a matter of time before Trump's rear end is hauled into a federal courtroom for indictment.

The good news is that Trump is likely not going to be able to run for President in 2024.  The bad news? Hell, we'll get DeSantis!

Meet Virginia

This is Virginia Lamp Thomas.  She's the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

She got into the news for communicating with Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows on strategy for overturning Joe Biden's election to the Presidency and discussing ideas for exposing the Democrats as perpetrating the most criminal fraud in the history of American government and urging Meadows - who saw the "Stop the Steal" campaign as a fight of good versus evil - as a fight for liberty.  She's totally bought into wild conspiracy theories about the election.

She was also pleased to share the news that Meadows was fighting like hell for Trump with her best friend . . . apparently, she meant her husband, who passes judgment on cases related to election challenges.

This could mean that Justice Thomas - who recently spent a week in the hospital with "flu-like symptoms" - could be influenced by his wife in ruling on cases instigated by Trump.  The House January 6 committee hopes to get answers from Mrs. Thomas, but she's not likely to testify.

Meanwhile, the war in Ukraine has all but pushed the January 6 investigation off the front pages and the airwaves.  Many people think this could hurt Trump, because he can't get attention, but it may in fact help him, because no one is reporting on the outrageously stupid things he says and people will be able to look at him anew if - when? - he runs for President again.  But when you have a guy like Trump who makes gaffes and isn't near a microphone to utter any gaffes, one must hope for a Trump supporter to make a gaffe on his behalf and accidently hurt him - and in this case, I'll be damned if it didn't turn out that way!  😃Thanks, Mrs. Thomas! 😉

Clarence Thomas should reuse himself from future cases regarding election integrity.  He won't, of course.

Crazy Like a Fox

The revelatory news about material then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, now being held by the House of Representatives in contempt, gave to the House select committee investigating the pro-Trump Capitol insurrection, which showed that Meadows most certainly did help Donald Trump trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election long before January 6, almost (almost) got overshadowed by what the clown car full of primetime hosts over at the Fox News Channel said in texts to Meadows about Trump needing to do something about the insurrection as it was taking place.
(Fox News primetime commentators carpooling on their way to work.)
Like this text from Laura Ingraham: "Mark, the President needs to tell people in the Capitol to go home.  This is hurting all of us. He is destroying his legacy."
(Noted bottle-blonde Laura Ingraham putting on her makeup before going on the air.)
Or how about this text from Sean Hannity?
"Can he make a statement, ask people to leave the Capitol?"

(A headshot of Sean Hannity.)
And then there's text from Brian Kilmeade!
"Please, get him [Trump] on TV,” he texted. “He's [d]estroying everything you have accomplished."
All of that is in great contradiction to what these hosts were saying about the insurrection after the fact, talking about how it was "not that bad" and that it was a mostly "peaceful" demonstration, and how the violence might have been a left-wing plot instigated by Antifa at the demonstration to make Trump supporters look bad.   These Fox News commentators only make themselves look worse with these texts than any left-wing group seeking to sabotage a peaceful conservative demonstration (which could never happen because conservative demonstrators aren't peaceful - remember the may 1970 Hard Hat Riot in Manhattan?) could ever do.
Oh yeah, Fox News commentators started defending the January 6 insurrectionists on . . . the night of January 6.
The fact that these texts have revealed Hannity, Kilmeade and their evil den mother Ingraham as complete hypocrites and liars are, alas, likely n t have a detrimental effect on their of Fox News' popularity.  The Big Lie about the 2020 election - that the Democrats stole it - is only going to grow until something even worse happens.
