Health Care Reform: Now It's Really Done

After the Senate reworked the new health care reform law in reconciliation, it had to go back to the House of Representatives on a couple of technicalities. Those House votes hae just been taken, and by a vote of 220 to 207, the the work is now complete.
The law is a milestone both for President Obama and the senior Democrat in the House, John Dingell of Michigan, who has served in the House since 1955 and spent much of his career to get a law like this passed. Dingell is having his praises sung by feloow Democrats and progressive commentators, and he's practically being treated as a hero.
John Dingell, a man has opposed mandatory automobile fuel efficiency standards that would encourage Detroit to build smaller cars and have smaller profit margins, and a man who gets a high rating from the National Rifle Association, a hero? That's going to take a bit of time for me to get used to.
