Swiss Mess

Why aren't I surprised by this?

Not a lot of people are, actually, and the lack of shock value  - coupled with Donald Trump's entertainment value - is just the trouble.

Beatrice Keul, a former Miss Switzerland, accused Trump - the owner of the beauty pageant - of raping her in November 1993.  He offered her help in getting a visa to stay in the United States so she could attend New York University and invited her to his room in the Plaza Hotel.  There, Keul said, he physically assaulted her, tore her dress, and caused her to bleed.

The information came out from the Democratic minority of a House subcommittee, which must have clearly embarrassed House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries, who would prefer that Democrats concentrate on prescription drug prices.  (Sarcasm.)

Trump dismissed Keul's very credible and most likely true charges (the chances of Keul's charges being true roughly equal the purity of Ivory soap) as a Democratic plot.  That would only make sense if Switzerland had just been admitted to the Union.

This is beyond disturbing.  The so-called leader of this country is obviously a serial rapist, and everyone just shrugs it off rather than demand that Trump be held accountable.

How long is it before Trump tried to take care of the scandal by starting a war against Switzerland?

Trump has ruined beauty pageants - which, to be honest, were never that pure and wholesome to begin with - and, given his recent obsession with male posteriors, he's likely ruined the Mr. Olympia contest too.
