I can't think straight tonight, Mainly because a run-of-the-mill snowstorm for my area forecast for tomorrow night is in fact going to be a blizzard.
My area is expected to get an average of sixteen inches of snow with wind gusts of over 40 mph, and even though areas closer to the coast are likely to fare even worse, that's hardly any comfort. In fact - no pun intended - it's cold comfort.
In the meantime, though, a similar blow may be in the works against Iran. Trump is reportedly planning to attack Iran and possibly aim to depose the Supreme Leader after having promised to bomb Iran to save demonstrators against the Islamic government there. He's about three weeks too late for that.
But he's still likely going to go in - as soon as the Winter Olympic torch in Italy gets put out. In ancient times, whenever the Olympic Games commenced, wars were temporarily stopped in a truce for sport. The 1916, 1940, and 1944 Olympics - all canceled by the two world wars - have shown that the opposite is true today, and ongoing regional conflicts during any modern Olympiad don't stop just because of a huge international sporting event. Ask any Ukrainian athlete.
Between the blizzard and the war Trump plans to start, I prefer the blizzard. At least I know the blizzard will stop and the snow and wind are both eventually going to go . . . away.
