My Two New Kittens!

And here they are - my two latest acquisitions, both of which are sure to chase away the blues - my two new kittens! 😃 😺 😺

This is my male kitten Chico . . .

. . . and this is my female kitten Claudia!
Aren't they adorable?
I adopted them from a fostering service that originally named them after two 1980s pop singers - and I hated living through the 1980s, and the music was usually the worst part of it. So I had to rename them the second I got them.
I had planned to adopt a kitten, knowing that a kitten who was not yet a full-grown cat would last longer.  I had not planned to adopt two kittens, but the fostering service insisted that I adopt both, as they were siblings from the same litter and needed each other's company.  How could I say no? 😊
I named Chico for Chico Marx . . .
. . . although his name was supposed to be pronounced "Chick-o," not "Cheek-o," but everyone called him "Cheek-o" anyway because of the spelling of his nickname and his assumed Italian accent.  (Leonard Marx was nicknamed "Chick-o" for being a womanizer.)
I sort of also named my little boy kitten after this Chico - a Volkswagen concept city car from 1992 that was never put into production.
And how did I name my little girl kitten Claudia?
I had trouble coming up with a name for a female cat, but then I met a woman I was already friends with on social media but had never met in person.  She's a model/actress turned artist who contributed prints to an art show in Connecticut.  I went up there and surprised her, and she was so nice and sweet to me and thanked me for coming.  On the way home, I had my name for a female cat.
The woman is former model/actress and present-day print artist Claudia Cron.
And how are the kittens?  They're playful, cute, rambunctious, endearing, cuddly - in short, everything kittens are supposed to be.
I'm going to have a wonderful time with these two kitties. 💝

Yes you definitely will. You will be so glad to have littermates as they do need each other. My last two cats were litter mates and were fabulous buddies for me and each othe: I believe you met them: Stuffy & Arlen. I still miss them. Two is better than one. Kitties are happier with a buddy and even better with a sibling. So glad you didn’t separate them. Blessings to you
