Miracle on 34 Counts

I don't think people appreciate enough how important is was not just that Donald Trump was found guilty of election interference in the 2016 presidential campaign but was found guilty on 34 counts!  How do you get twelve New Yorkers to agree on finding anyone guilt on that many counts?  You usually can't even get two New Yorkers to agree on anything.

The sentencing scheduled for July 11 is already causing consternation among Trump supporters, and the possibility of prison or at least house arrest is very real.  Even as polls show that a majority of Americans agree with the conviction, Trump supporters are ready to go to war for their idol.  And their idol is already encouraging.

Trump has always stated that MAGA Republicans won't stand for even the most comfortable sort of incarceration for him, telling Fox Noise that "at some point, there's going to be a breaking point."  Wait, what?  A point at a point?  Well, there's a point to his point, and my point regarding the point of his point - 😄 - is that many Americans, even those who believe he is guilty of falsifying 34 documents, might find imprisoning Trump in any way, shape, or form to be a bridge too far.  Pundits say that Trump's conviction has marked him, but given his ability to resist being forced to wear scarlet letters before, we'll have to wait to see if this mark stands the test of time.

Or, as Sammy Hagar once sang, "Only time will tell if we stand the test of time." 😛
