Donald Trump has continued to declare that immigrants are "poisoning the blood of our country." That disgusting rhetoric - specifically aimed at immigrants from Asia, Africa and Latin America but not Europe, and certainly not Scotland (where his mother was born), the Czech Republic (where his first wife was born) and Slovenia (where his third wife was born) - is straight out of Adolf Hitler's manifesto "Mein Kampf."
Trump insists that he's never read "Mein Kampf." I believe him. I don't think he's ever read anything.
But I'm sure he owns the audio version - read by the late Bruno Ganz. (Joke.)
The Democrats, largely silent on the Republican 2024 presidential primary campaign, ought to speak up on this now. They can't rely on abortion or the Fourteenth Amendment's insurrection clause to keep Trump from regaining power in November.
If leading Democrats don't speak up in 2024, Trump could have them strung up in 2025.
