E. Stewart Rhodes - the E is for "Elmer" - was found guilty of seditious conspiracy in directing his militia group the Oath Keepers in the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol.
A charge such as seditious conspiracy is very difficult to prove, but the Justice Department pulled it off.
"Today the jury returned a verdict convicting all defendants of criminal conduct, including two Oath Keepers leaders for seditious conspiracy against the United States," U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland said. "The Justice Department is committed to holding accountable those criminally responsible for the assault on our democracy on January 6, 2021. The prosecutors and agents on this case worked tirelessly, with extraordinary skill, and in the best traditions of the Department of Justice."
And with the subsequent termination of an appellate court three-judge panel of the special master appointed to look at the documents Donald Trump stole and brought to Mar-a-Lago - Garland and special counsel are certain to go after bigger fish - that is, Trump himself. 😃
As for Elmer, he's going to jail for a long, long time.
