Remember that railroad strike the Biden administration averted? And how Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh got plaudits for helping to get a contract with the railroad companies and a dozen or so unions involved? And how we could stop worrying about a rail strike?
Fortunately, as far as passenger trains are concerned, that's not very serious, as I understand that no one rides passenger trains. Ronald Reagan said so. (Sarcasm.) But what happens when freight trains stop running? I'll tell you - the already complicated supply line problems driving inflation will get exponentially worse. And then the fun will really begin.
President Biden doesn't have to worry about this affecting the midterm elections, as a strike, if there is one, won't happen until they are over. But he can't brag about his administration averting a strike that may happen after all. If it does, Republicans will run Biden out of town on a flat-bed semi!
Because the railroad workers will be on strike? No, because Republicans are partial to the highway interests anyway.
