Finally!

Democrats just passed the Inflation Reduction Act in the House, and now President Biden (below) will soon schedule a time to sign it publicly.  I hope that, after all the hard work in getting Build Back Better Lite passed, he opens the ceremony saying he's going to veto it because it doesn't go far enough and then say, "Just kidding!" 😃
The bill establishes a minimum corporate tax, caps out-of-pocket spending for prescription drugs at $2,000 per year, and makes a huge investment in combating climate change through incentivizing solar and wind power and also extending tax credits for electric vehicles.  It also expands Affordable Care Act subsidies for three more years.
But don't think the Democrats will benefit from this bill with the public - at least not yet. Many of its full effects won't be felt for months, or maybe even years, and so it will not have a positive effect for the Democratic Party in time for the 2022 midterms. Despite its name, the Inflation Reduction Act, though it might bring costs down in health care a little, won't have any serious effect on inflation.  But its still part of a good record for Biden to show what's done for the U.S.  And having achieved all he's ever likely to achieve in his term . . . yes, I still think it.  He should list all of his achievements in the 2023 State Of the Union addresses and close by announcing that he will not run for President in 2024.
I already have someone in mind to be the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee, and it ain't Kamala Harris. 😉
