It was so warm yesterday where I live that when a cold front sliced through, it produced thunderstorms. In March.
The day before, the Storm Prediction Center assured my area that we were far from the closest area under a marginal risk for severe weather - the Pittsburgh area. Then yesterday, most of New Jersey was placed in a "slight risk" zone and we got a watch, then a warning. The storm that blew through could have knocked down trees in my neighborhood and, in other places, did.
This is just the beginning of a much longer severe-thunderstorm season, brought to us by climate change.
Oh yeah, and there could a wind-driven rain storm this coming Saturday . . . 😠
