Half a Million Less Strong

The United States reached the grim milestone of 500,000 deaths from COVID-19.
To give you an idea of how many people that is, that would be like if every person who had been at Woodstock in the summer of 1969 had died by the summer of 1970.
In the meantime, many esteemed doctors and virologists are continuing to push for strict mitigation measures (you know what they are; I won't repeat them) and are also encouraging people ot get vaccinated with the promise of hope and an end to the pandemic.  But for every person who offers hope, there are two people who prophesize despair and worse days to come with no end in sight.

And those two people are Michael Osterholm and Laurie Garrett.

Lay down your candles in the rain.  😓
