Forty-Two Thousand?

Over 42,000 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the United States yesterday.
The U.S., more specifically, the U.S. government under Donald Trump, has let the COVID-19 crisis get so far out of hand that  anyone hoping to return to something resembling the norm that existed before the pandemic has a long, long wait ahead of them.  Meanwhile, countries like Germany and New Zealand more or less have the virus under control.
And yet, Trump is still trusted over Joe Biden on the economy, according to the polls. But those same polls also show Biden well ahead of Trump, the inference being that people care for more about the health of the people than the economy of the country.
Foreign countries are either laughing at us or condemning us.  North Korea's Kin Jong Un is probably doing both.  As today is the seventieth anniversary of the start of the Korean War, I'm reminded of how much Kim played Trump for a fool . . . and emerged victorious.
I don't think I need to (or want to) say anymore . . .
