Debbie Wasserman Schultz is out as Democratic National Committee chair. E-mails released by WikiLeaks that were discovered by hackers from Russia - which would benefit from a Trump Presidency, given Trump's inexplicably dumb approach to handling the NATO alliance - showed that she and other committee members were doing everything in their power to tip the scales for Hillary and to make sure Bernie Sanders could never get the nomination, calling his character and even his religious faith into question.
This is sure to add to the divisions between progressives and moderates at a time when the Democratic Party, having lost its mojo in recent off-year elections, struggles to find new issues to run on going forward in this presidential election year.
Hmm, this sounds a lot like the Whigs' position in the early 1850s . . .
Thanks for everything you've done, Debbie. You're a honey.
We shouldn't celebrate Deb's departure. It's too little, too late.
