Incredible . . . just a couple of days after I wrote here to praise Morley Safer on the occasion of his retirement, he died suddenly at the age of 84. There are no words to say about him at this time; I already said them this past Tuesday. But I think it's safe to say that while his retirement barely lasted a week - his last "60 Minutes" report, by the way, was this past March - he probably wasn't looking forward to putting his feet up. His travels and his story portfolio made it clear that his real pleasure in life was his job. RIP. :-(
