As far as I'm concerned, Sony made a big mistake in making The Interview, a movie whose mere premise screams bad taste (you know what it's about; I won't repeat it), but everyone seems to agree that Sony made an equally big mistake in, at first, refusing to release it. And so, The Interview will be debuting tomorrow in independent movie theaters (yes, there are some!), as well as online, for people to see and judge for themselves. I haven't seen so much controversy over a movie since The Last Temptation of Christ, and that was a much more serious movie.
Of course, there are some wags who think that this brouhaha over The Interview was set up to sell more movie tickets or whatever. Me, I'm just going to sit back and watch the story unfold; I have no plans to see it because I'm flat-out not interested. I am, though, beginning to think that the story about The Interview would make a great movie itself. But who would play Seth Rogen? :-p
