In my post of February 24, 2011, about public broadcasting, I mentioned that BBC Radio has six music stations. It actually has five.
Specifically, it has Radio 1 and Radio 1Xtra, each devoted to current music; Radio 2, devoted to classic pop; Radio 3, devoted to classical and jazz, and; Radio 6, or 6 Music, a digital station. (For the record, Radio 5 and 5Xtra are sports stations, while Radio 7 presents radio plays. Radio 4 is a talk station similar to NPR in the United States, with one key difference; Radio 4 is in no danger of going off the air.)
Back tomorrow.
