I think we all now know what MSNBC means: Misogynists Spewing Nastiness 'Bout Clintons!
Last month it was Chris Matthews speculating that the only reason Hillary Clinton won the New Hampshire primary was because that women felt bad for her due to the fact that her husband "messed around." Matthews should consider himself lucky that he's still on the air. This month MSNBC reporter David Shuster expressed displeasure over the way the Clinton has been sending Chelsea Clinton to talk to voters as "pimping her out." Though Shuster apologized for this crass remark, he has been suspended indefinitely.
I find it interesting that the Clintons were never able to get Rush Limbaugh - currently pretending to hate John McCain - taken to task for referring to Chelsea Clinton as the "White House dog." Then again, it was on his TV show, and that didn't last long.
In any case, MSNBC is showing remarkable insensitivity toward the Clinton campaign's "girl power" ("I'm your girl!" - Hillary Clinton) and offending not only Hillary but Barack Obama as well. The Clinton campaign is even threatening to pull out of a scheduled MSNBC-sponsored debate on February 26. Even more ironic is MSNBC's plethora of high-profile female personalities (Andrea Mitchell, Norah O'Donnell, Alex Witt), suggesting an enlightened attitude towards women that apparently doesn't really exist.
And if I were Keith Olbermann, I'd watch my mouth. :-O
