I am making it official. I am endorsing Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States, which I have already announced on my MySpace page.
Why Barack Obama? Because while is policy proposals - particularly on health care and economic aid to the middle class - is not far removed from Hillary Clinton's, there is one key difference: Barack Obama potentially comes to the office with no political baggage.
The Clintons have proven to play the same kind of dirty politics that tha Bushes have played, and that is exactly why we have to get off the Bush-Clinton not-so-merry-go-round. The Bush family has stirred up deep resentment and suspicion among Democrats, and the Clintons have done the same among Republicans. Without ties to the politics of earlier decades, and his ability to bridge racial and generational divides, Barack Obama is just about the only candidate who can bring the country together.
We can't have the same two families getting everyone in Washington with a tizzy over each other. It's bad politics, and it's bad for the country.
