Follow You, Follow Me

The House of Representatives put George W. Bush on notice, passing a resolution opposing his proposed troop surge in Iraq and indicating that he'd best come up with another policy if he wants to get along with the Democratic majority. Actually, a deed to the Brooklyn Bridge has more weight.
Opponents of the resolution accused the Democrats and the seventeen Republicans supporting the resolution of endorsing a plan of cutting and running, and if we leave Iraq now the terrorists will "follow us home." That's the first time I've ever heard al-Qaeda likened to stray dogs and lovesick teenage boys.
Yesterday, Bush also called for more resources to help Afghanistan. What wonders never cease - Bush finally remembered that we're still at war with the Taliban.
