Gas prices are beginning to fall, and a lot of people see that as a good thing. Oh, really? How many times do I have to repeat myself on this point? Gas isn't too expensive, it's too cheap. When adjusted for inflation, it actually costs less than it did in 1979, when the president of Iran was a hostage-taker. It may be going down now, thanks to reduced summer driving this year and a lot of surplus gasoline glutting the market as a result, but trust me, the price will go back up as soon as Iran starts feeling its oats. . . which could be as soon as Wednesday.
