If you need any more evidence that the gang occupying the White House these days is a diverse group of idiots, imbeciles, morons, and circus pinheads, look no further than this comment that presidential counselor Dan Bartlett made to MSNBC's Norah O'Donnell when trying to recast the "war on terror" as a replay of the Second World War:
"Well, I think what you saw today, Norah, was a specific articulation of the type of enemy we have to face. What the sound bite you used by the president demonstrates is that the ideological struggle of the 21st century, the the terrorist organizations that we're after in this war on terror, is very similar to the ideological struggles that we faced during World War II when we fought Nazism and communism."
That's right. Bartlett thinks we fought the Soviet Union in World War II, and that they were allies of the Germans. The U.S.S.R., an ally of a country (Germany) that attacked it pre-emptively and declared war on it simultaneously? (I have heard that Hitler never actually declared war on the Soviet Union, but I am not sure about that.)
What frightens me is that Bush isn't the dumbest person in the White House, yet the dumbest of the dumb are still running the show.
No wonder Kyra Phillips was in the ladies' room during Bush's Hurricane Katrina anniversary speech. She must get indisposed a lot having to listen to him and his aides. :-O
