My birthday is this Saturday, and I normally go to Philadelphia and take in an exhibition at one of its excellent art museums. I like to take Amtrak to Thirtieth Street Station, then take the subway into Center City rather than drive there. Not this year. The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) has been crippled by a strike; no buses, trains, or trolleys are running. Guess I'll skip it this year; that's more crap than I can handle.
Instead, I'll be going to a performance of the American Ballet Theatre on Sunday. :-)
