Springtime For Hitler Comparisons

Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA), a poster boy for the far right and a man who makes me want to chew a handful of nails rather than listen to his yammerings and yowlings, committed a major faux pas during the debate over the use of filibusters in opposing odious judicial nominees (and how can you get more odious than Priscilla Owen?). Decrying Democratic efforts to preserve the right to filibuster judicial nominees, Santorum declared, "[I'm appalled by] the audacity of some members to stand up and say, how dare you break this rule. It's the equivalent of Adolf Hitler in 1942 saying, 'I'm in Paris. How dare you invade me. How dare you bomb my city? It's mine.' This is no more the rule of the Senate than it was the rule of the Senate before not to filibuster."
The Democrats are no less tyrannical than Hitler? Some senators take offense of Nazi metaphors being leveled at Senate members of the opposite party, as one senator made clear this past February. He said of Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV) : "Senator Byrd's inappropriate remarks comparing his Republican colleagues with Nazis are inexcusable. These comments lessen the credibility of the senator and the decorum of the Senate. He should retract his statement and ask for pardon."
The offended senator's name? Rick Santorum.
Santorum apologized for his own Nazi remark. Apology not accepted, you smiley-faced hypocritical bastard. Attention Pennsylvania voters - please vote this jerk out of office next year!!!!
