Things Fall Apart

The resilience of humankind, illustrated by the redone election in Ukraine that will apparently make Viktor Yushchneko its next president after all and may lead to a brighter future for the Ukrainian people, has more than been countered by evidence of the fragility of humankind in southern Asia. The massive tidal waves there have killed nearly 24,000 people in eight countries, and worse is to come from the aftermath of the equally massive flooding. Everything put together does indeed fall apart, or at least has an excellent chance of doing so. We Americans should bear that in mind. :-(
