Ivan the Terrible

Hurricane Ivan is pushing its way through Jamaica right now, and it is expected to hit Florida - first the Keys, than possibly somewhere south of Tampa - in the next few days. The people of Florida must be having a rough time with all this bad weather. :-( No idea where it might go after that.
Incidentally, I remember three years ago, in 2001, when the possibility of a hurricane in the Atlantic - its name was either Erin or Emily - hitting the East Coast seemed very real. It stayed far away, and the New York area only got some moderate showers on September 10. New Yorkers must have gone to bed that night thinking they'd been spared a disaster. If they only knew then. . . . :-(
