Getting back to the 2004 presidential campaign (ha ha!) for a moment: Joe Lieberman, one of the many Republicans in Democrat clothing and a candidate for the almost worthless (as of now, anyway) Democratic presidential nomination, recently derided populist politics as meaningless. His rationale was that you can't tell workers that you're fighting for them against powerful corporate leaders because "you can't be pro-jobs and anti-business." Oh, really?" So why is it possible, as the Republicans have repeatedly shown, to have it the other way around - that is, be pro-business and anti-jobs?
I don't get it, man, I just don't get it . . ..
