Baghdad In the Bag?

Okay, the American and British armies have captured Baghdad, the residents of the city are dancing in the streets, and the war in Iraq looks like it's going to end sooner rather than later, but that hasn't changed either my low opinion of George W. Bush nor my belief that Saddam Hussein could have been dealt with in a way that could have spared a lot of lives. Now the U.S. government wants to put Iraq back together by itself, at the expense of an increasingly middle-class tax base even as our domestic economy tanks. Let's enjoy our victory, then - many defeats are ahead of us. And life in America under the Dubyanistas is going to get worse before it gets even worse.
