Correction: January 13, 2019

Earlier today I wrote in my look at the unissued Beatles EP of song from the movie Yellow Submarine that the mono version of "Across the Universe" was issued in a 2009 box set without the bird sound effects that adorned the World Wildlife Fund charity record that comedian Spike Milligan put together.  In fact, I've since been told that this mono version of  "Across the Universe" does have the sound effects, and Wikipedia reports that they had been added before March 1969.  Mark Lewisohn's book "The Beatles Recording Sessions" suggest that the sound effects were not added until the recording was mixed for stereo in October 1969, but this is apparently wrong.
The original post has been corrected.  As for "Across the Universe" itself, it's a song that requires a lengthy explanation in a separate blog entry.  Look for that from me sometime later.
