The 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia have gotten underway, and I hope to comment them as much as possible. Don't expect much in the way of commentary before Tuesday, though, as I have other things occupying my time. For one thing, the Beatles convention I go to annually, which is usually held in early spring, is being held this weekend in tandem with the fiftieth anniversary of their arrival in America (February 7, 8 and 9 all fell on the same days of the week in 1964 as they do in 2014), so I'll be there tomorrow and not watching a lot of competition. I also have other comments going forward. But I certainly hope to bring my unique spin on these Games, so when I do, I hope you'll join me.
My Winter Olympics commentary is dedicated to Janis Kipurs, the Latvian bobsledder with the musical name. :-)
