How We'll Meet The Mother

The final season of the CBS sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" begins on Monday, with actress Cristin Milioti as the future Mrs. Ted Mosby.  We don't know much about her character yet, other than that she's a bass player at Barney and Robin's wedding whom Ted has seen before carrying a yellow umbrella.   We know even less about how Barney and Robin's wedding is going to turn out, and we don't know how Marshall's acceptance of a judgeship is going to affect his and Lily's plans to move to Italy.  Actually, we do, when you think about it; we just don't know how it's going to affect . . . Lily. All questions we have, though, will be answered in due time . . . starting Monday.
But only for those of us who can tune in on Monday.  I have to be somewhere on Monday night, and it is not in fact in a television lounge or a sports bar where "How I Met Your Mother" is airing.  So I'll have to record it and then watch it on Tuesday before reporting on it back here on the following day, Wednesday.  This is just one of the many shows returning from May.
It looks like we're getting back in the swing of things for fall.  With NBC's "Parenthood" moving from Tuesdays, when I'm usually busy at night, to Thursdays (Ray Romano's back!)  at least I don't have to tape that anymore.
Yes, I still use VHS! You want to make something out of it?
