Special Election Endorsement

All right, we have one week to go before the special U.S. Senate election in Massachusetts, so I'm just going to come right out and put my candidate preference (even I don't live in the Bay State, though I know someone who does - hi, Nancy!) on record in the form of an endorsement.  I'll be brief.
This blog endorses Ed Markey, the Democratic candidate, for the U.S. Senate seat that was vacated by John Kerry. He's a staunch progressive, and he's right on all the issues, especially with regards to the environment.  Yes, he can be a jerk, and he's something of a fop, but that's a whole lot better than his Republican opponent, who, if elected , will most likely serve as the Senator from the Koch family.
Back later with more musings.
