Yesterday I reported that CBS was now showing reruns of "Two And a Half Men" - first-run episodes of which are now on Thursdays - in the 8:30 PM Eastern time slot on Mondays vacated by the since-canceled sitcom "Partners." It turns out that the network is also showing reruns of "The Big Bang Theory," another Thursday night sitcom, in that time slot as well. Reruns of either series, and possibly reruns of other half-shows as well, will apparently be the norm for the Monday time slot following "How I Met Your Mother" at CBS until a replacement series is found.
And, while the re-appearance of "Two And a Half Men" in any form on CBS's lucrative Monday night schedule is a giant step backward for American civilization, there's hope that the current season of that show - its tenth - may be its last. One of its own stars is urging people not to watch it. Angus T. Jones, who plays Jake Harper - one of those sitcom sons no one would want to have in real life - says the series is "filth" and contradictory to his own personal religious beliefs. Ha ha! Good for him. It's refreshing to know that a cast member of "Two And a Half Men" has better taste than the show's producers . . . or its audience.
Jones, by the way, is nineteen years old right now, but as long as Ashton Kutcher is on "Two And a Half Men" for however long that show is on the air, series creator Chuck Lorre will never have to worry about changing its title. :-D
