Congratulations to Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh-Jennings. They're an inspiration to every little girl who ever grew up wanting to . . . combine their maiden names with their husbands' names upon getting married. But they also inspired them to play beach volleyball, and they did it in stellar fashion, winning virtually every set they ever played in the Olympics and winning three gold medals in a row. May-Treanor is retiring, and even though Walsh-Jennings has vowed to continue with another partner, it won't be the same. It'll be like Sammy Hagar stepping in for David Lee Roth alongside Eddie Van Halen. Thanks for the memories, ladies. :-)
Please note that I did not say anything about their uniforms.
