It's Just Another New Year's Eve . . .

I'm not in much of a mood to celebrate New Year's Eve tonight. Except for meeting Nancy Donahue this past month - and that was certainly a high point I appreciated - there hasn't really been that much for me to look back on with fondness this year. I'm still trying to find a permanent job, and even temporary jobs are hard to come by. I couldn't even get a seasonal job at Macy's, for Pete's sake.
You already know about how my writing career has not turned out. I suppose I'll have to wait for things to turn around as well.
I've already decided that I will not be attending the First Night celebration in Montclair; there aren't enough acts there this year to make it worth my while and, besides, I'm going somewhere else this evening to look at holiday light displays.
And so, when this New Year's Eve is over, I hope for something better in 2011. Happy new year.
