The story could be either today's news or yesterday's news. After encouraging words from the government and positive signs from other stock markets around the world, the New York Stock Exchange rallied this morning . . . and plunged by the end of the day. The Dow Jones average index lost 678 points to close at 8579 points - its lowest level in five years.
I've had days like that. I wake up feeling optimistic, only to see the day go downhill.
And I own stock. :-O
